It will be done.

Last minute sewing for the Asa's costume.
I should have prepared myself.
At least all the patterns are cut and each piece is sewn.
I just have to put it all together tonight.

But the most horrible thing happened today.
It seems that my bank had tech problems.
And my money didn't get deposited.
Bummer!!

Snapshots of life

Her morning attire. Late dinner at Chick fil a. She's a P.I.M.P.
A ruffled birthday gift and ruffled streamers.
Trying to blow a balloon. Coffee instead of tea.
Grandparents took her to Fiddlesticks Farm.
Footnote: My previous post photos are not showing up. Blogger has been acting silly for me.

Shop Feature

I search high and low for amazing kid clothes for the tot that one day she can appreciate fashion as much I do. When searching for kids clothes it's often hard to find anything adorable in her size and the most wonderful clothing out there are for older girls. I stumbled upon this website that carried clothes that I'd love for Asa to wear at this age. Nellystella, carry playful yet modern clothes to keep any girl still feel like a kid. There fall collection is unbelievable and well you should see for yourself. They even have a behind the scene video for their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. They may not have an area to shop on their site but not to worry it's coming soon. Have any of you ladies heard of this brand?

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

tunic- forever21, boots/bag- charlotte russe

I know I have been lacking on posting what this mama wears during the day. I'm hoping once I'm caught up with all my projects that I will be able to. It has been pretty hard creating outfits seeing as I don't want to repeat some pieces over and I've limited myself from shopping even thrifting for a matter of fact. I'm trying my best to cycle in every pieces. More and more we have been getting looks when my hunny takes my photos, how do you lovely ladies handle it? Any plans for this coming weekend? I for one will celebrate my niece's first birthday. I can't believe how time flies so fast. Well that's it for now.

Halloween Parties

source- google
I love Halloween, I mean who doesn't love dressing up, trick or treating or decorating for this holiday. I told Justin that when we plan for another baby I hope that he or she is born in October so that I can plan amazing Halloween Parties. When I said that I pretty much figured out what I'm going to be for Halloween this year I actually haven't. It's a toss up between two costumes that I'm either creating myself or finding the right pieces for. I hope I can pull something off by Monday or else I will have to just go in my usual attire not only that this weekend I will be sewing Asa's Minnie Mouse costume since finding one on Etsy cost around $60-$70 and I just don't have the funds for that. But what better way then to make it yourself makes it extra special. Are any of you lovely people going to any Halloween parties or planning one yourself? I'd love to see photos.

Cauldron Curry

Cauldron Curry

My company is planning a Halloween Costume Contest and we are to bring some sort of Halloween dish. I'm thinking of trying out this recipe and possibly find a cauldron of some sort to put it in. The recipe calls for so many things and I may change it a tad bit. I'm not a big fan of curry but all the ingredients it calls for sounds delish. I already have my costume figured out I just hope it comes in on time. I can't wait to post photos. What are you guys dressing up as?

Ingredients
FOR THE CURRY PASTE
1 tablespoon whole coriander seeds, toasted
2 teaspoons whole cumin seeds, toasted
1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns, toasted
1 teaspoon coarse salt
3 serrano chiles, sliced
1/2 cup fresh cilantro
2 stalks fresh lemongrass, trimmed and chopped (1/2 cup)
8 garlic cloves, minced (1/4 cup)
2 scallions, chopped (1/4 cup)
2 tablespoons chopped peeled fresh ginger
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon finely grated lime zest (from 2 limes)

FOR THE STEW
2 ounces spinach (1 cup)
1 can (14 ounces) unsweetened regular coconut milk
1 can (14 ounces) unsweetened light coconut milk
1 medium zucchini, quartered lengthwise and sliced 1 inch thick (21/4 cups)
12 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
12 ounces boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
3/4 cup fresh basil
Serrano chiles, thinly sliced, for garnish

Squeamish Squash with Rice
Lime wedges, for serving
Directions
Make the curry paste: Grind coriander, cumin, peppercorns, and salt with a mortar and pestle, or with the bottom of a heavy skillet. Add remaining ingredients, and grind until a paste forms. (Curry paste can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 3 months.)
Make the stew: Puree 5 tablespoons curry paste, the spinach, and 1 cup regular coconut milk in a blender until smooth. Reserve remaining curry paste for another use.
Bring remaining regular coconut milk and the light coconut milk to a boil in a medium Dutch oven or heavy stockpot. Reduce heat, stir in curry-spinach mixture, and simmer for 5 minutes. Add zucchini, and cook until slightly tender, about 5 minutes. Add chicken, and season with salt and pepper. Cook until zucchini is tender and chicken is cooked through, about 5 minutes. Add basil, and garnish with serrano chiles. Serve with rice and lime wedges.
Nutrition

Cook's Note
The curry paste can be made in advance, minimizing last-minute fuss, and the stew cooks quickly. Using a combination of regular coconut milk and light coconut milk reduces the calories.

Snapshots of life, a trip to Target

I can't say that our weekend was filled with exciting plans. It was a lazy, lounge all day in your PJ's while watching Greek on Netflix type of weekend. I didn't plan on this to happen it just seemed more suitable for me really. I wasn't up for anything, although there were things that needed to be done that were neglected like laundry which will never be done, organize my small section of a craft room, plan a few outfits for the week to post photos, and so much more. Do any of you guys feel like just dropping everything just to sit and relax? I know it should be done and while I lay in my bed I see the piles of clothes that need folding, things that should be picked up from the floor, products made for the store and all I do is avoid them. Atleast we got a chance to leave the house to get diapers at Target and we let the tot get a craft project. We put this pink house together when it was suppose to be a castle but I couldn't get the other bloody pieces to hold until at the end I figured out that I need glue. Well she loved it and decorated as she pleased. This was our weekend nothing to exciting.

Mama Style: Yesterday's Outfit

blazer/shoes- charlotte russe- pants unknown, hat- target

It has been such a busy week for me. I am now preparing for another show in just about a week or two depending on how many products I get done. About two weeks ago Justin and I decided to take the tot out of dance class, she just does not want to go when asked, get dressed or be with her friends. It just breaks my heart because I know she can do great at it but I'm not one to force her into something she doesn't want to do and every day we ask each time. We'll try it again next year when she's three and hoping that she will want to do it. Any mom's out there with my problems?

Now Open

Can you believe it that Lilybird Vintage is now open? I know I can't either and I'm pinching myself as I type this. The past two months had me working on this project and have ignored you guys. Now that I have accomplished one of my goals I can move on to my other goals. This has always been a dream of mine to have my very own business and I have made my dream become reality. I know it can get bumpy but I know I can do it. Let me know what you guys think of the store.

Oh my this little miss is to darn cute. Her little poses are getting better as we take them. We were in a hurry taking these since they were taken on Sunday and we had to rush to the craft show I was a tad bit late getting there. I purchased her boots a year ago and was excited that they finally fit. Daddy had to take her tights and vest off the weather was getting warmer which was such a nicer day then Saturday. I didn't get a chance to take photos with my iphone this weekend I was a busy girl. I hope you all had a great weekend. Oh and by the way I'm planning on attending another show. I can't wait!

Craft Show: Part one

The past two months I have been preparing for the opening of Lilybird Vintage and I must say the past two weeks has been such a hectic and stressful week. I honestly thought to myself that I was prepared with only going on 3 hours of sleep for the past two days had me exhausted beyond belief. I was going crazy in hopes that I had all products finished. Justin helped me cut felt circles out last night and which I am so thankful for and my sister in law came to the rescue to manning the booth. Now mother nature wasn't on our side since an expected thunder and rain storm came just around 3 AM and lasted until 11 AM today. I was already running late and we I mean my daughter, niece, sister and myself in the car with non-stop pouring rain then nature took a new course letting me finally set up my booth around 12 and after finally setting everything to my liking we waited for our first customers. We had so many hits on the handmade dolls and the crochet bows as well but not one person purchase anything and that's when it hit me I started feeling discouraged that all this hard work was for nothing until a mother purchased two dolls one for her and her daughter. Yay, my first purchase and then two more and with a total of 5 customers who made purchases made my day even better. Although I didn't quite make the amount I wanted but hey it was my first show.

Now lets go with the overall details and displays for the show which by the way I absolutely love to the max. I even had the chance to use a few things from Asa's party that went perfect with the layout. I didn't want to go over the top or less being it was my first actual show. I made my own business cards which I will do a DIY project soon, ordered and created my own bow cards, and purchased a few of the displays at my favorite antique shop. Tomorrows post I will show more details of the booth. And as for the online store which was to open today has been moved to Monday. Well I hope you all have had a less of a hectic week. Now I'm off to catch some sleep before I do it all over again tomorrow. Goodnight!!

I am amazed beyond belief at how great this collection is. I am so jealous at the fact that this little girl is so much stylish then me. Which photo is your fave?
