Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

dress- unknown, shoes- charlotte russe, purse- thrifted

I hope you all haven't grown tired of these blue pumps. These have to be my most favorite shoes of all. My hunny went back to school today and we're excited that it is his last year to be in the Nursing Program. We have so many plans after he graduates and I'm so proud of him making it this far. I hope everyone who has been affected by Miss Irene is doing ok. Well I'm off to work on the store.

Mama Style: Yesterday's Outfit

dress- thrifted, bag- vintage- heels- forever21

It has been such a busy week for me from my 8-5 job to working on products for the opening of Lilybird Vintage. The store is coming along but I still have so much to do if only I could hire an assistant to help me that would speed up the process. Also look for some new changes happening on the blog as well. I'm super excited and can't wait for you all to see. Guess what...guess what?? Guess who is turning the big 27 on Thursday, my old self of course. Hehehehe!!! Not to thrilled about turning this age because that means I'm 3 years away from 30...eekkk. Well I hope those who have been affected by the earthquake and hurricane are a-ok. You all are in my prayers and hope you guys are keeping safe.

Crafty DIY: Calling Cards

How adorable are these DIY business cards? And which one is your fave? For me I love them all. I have been going crazy trying to figure out how my cards would look. After seeing these I think I pretty much have it figured out. At first I wanted to hire someone to create them for me but I think doing them myself gives it that extra special touch. I have almost one month left until the launch of the site and Trade Days. Am I excited yes, am I scared of course and am I prepared I think so. If any of you have ideas to share, please by all means let me know.

Tasty Tuesday

source- Food Network

This was last nights dinner and boy was it good. We didn't have any leftover mashed potatoes so I made some from scratch. I wish the recipe would have added the health nutrition but they didn't so I'm pretty sure this isn't healthy considering the potatoes and biscuit. I had two and that was filling enough. So if you've never had Shepherd's pie I recommend this recipe for sure.

Mini Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

Cooking spray

1 can biscuits (12) (recommended: Grands)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 pound ground beef

1/2 onion, minced

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 tablespoon cracked black pepper

1 tablespoon minced garlic

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/2 cup beef stock

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves

1 1/2 cups leftover mashed potatoes

1 tablespoon granulated garlic powder

2 tablespoons granulated onion powder

2 cups shredded Cheddar

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Spray a 12-count muffin pan with cooking spray. Mold biscuits to the shape of each muffin cup. Par-bake biscuits for 6 to 8 minutes until light golden. Remove from oven and set aside.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and brown. Stir in the onions, salt, pepper and garlic and allow to cook together for a couple of minutes.
Mix flour into the meat mixture and stir until a paste consistency is reached. Add beef stock to pan and stir in vegetables and herbs, the last few minutes, until combined.

Reheat mashed potatoes in a microwave for 5 to 6 minutes. Stir in granulated garlic and onion powder.

Spoon equal amounts (approximately 2 tablespoons) of warm potatoes on the bottoms of each par-baked biscuit. Then top with equal amounts of beef mixture (approximately 2 tablespoons). Finally top with equal amounts of Cheddar. Return to oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until cheese is melted and browned. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before popping individual pies out with a knife.

Little Miss Style: What she wore

dress- thrifted, boots- target, crochet bow- Lilybird Vintage (coming soon)

The tot is getting better and better with her poses with just a little help from mama. I think she has what it takes to be the next future style blogger, don't you think? I had to snap photos of her in this outfit before it got dark outside. Now we're jut watching some of her favorite shows and laying in bed after eating a delicious meal I made, which I will share the recipe tomorrow. Have a great night, lovelies!!

Mama and Papa Style: What we wore

Here's what my hunny and I wore today. After getting off work at noon we had a lunch date at Corinos while the tot was with her grandparents and cousin running around town. Remember when I said I had the stomach bug and normally I would order the spicy marinara spaghetti but today I just had the mini Italian nachos which was amazing and not only that I got a free mini dessert. Now we're just relaxing until Justin's friend comes back to town and we're going over for some drinks and swimming. I hope you all have had a great weekend.

Isn't the tot the cutest in her crab outfit. She wore this yesterday and got so much attention. A friend from work gave this to the tot for her 2nd birthday. We thought it wouldn't fit her but it did. She's so small that she can still fit in 18 months clothes. We're still working on taking her photos but I think they are getting better. Today was my first day back to work I had the worst stomach bug and was out for two days. Glad that I'm feeling much better and able to eat. Our Friday wasn't exciting just ate dinner, visit to target and movie night. Hopefully today will be much better. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Shop Feature

Yay, the second shop feature and of course I'm excited. You all know who she is, Nicole who runs an incredible online vintage shop, Gary Pepper Vintage. I'd love to meet her one day in my lifetime. She has such an impeccable sense of style and oh so gorgeous. She is seen in almost all magazines and all over the web. She just recently launched her website and it is amazing, featuring all of her pieces that she styles on her own. Not only does she run her own store but her every day style and life chronicles on her blog. If your ever in need of any vintage items do check her shop out.

Healthy Living

I know it's not your average great pose in front of a mirror using your iphone to take your photo but I had to give it a try. I'm no expert when it comes to taking pictures of myself in front of the mirror. Today was an exception since it was the first day I opened my Shape workout video that I purchased here and lets just say I've had it for the longest time. I am determined to get back into shape in a year since I'm taking my hunny to California next summer. I hope to keep on track and live a healthier life but I guess we will just have see its end results. What are your workout routine or diet plans? Oh please do share.

Workout: Shape's 5 Day Jumpstart Video
Cardio: 20 minutes
Ab workout: 20 minutes

Footnote: Please excuse the tots pile of clothes on the bed. We've been needing to get some more hangers and we can't seem to fit them all in her closet.

Kitchen Essential

Has anyone heard or seen these nifty little cake makers? These baby cakes (what they are actually called) can make anything from cake pops to donuts such a handy little tool for those who plan birthday parties, special events, weddings or just because. I know I would when it comes to planning the tots birthday parties or just for us to bake up a few things, decorate and eat 'em up. These things come in different colors and are so affordable. I've already hinted to Justin that I wanted them for my birthday (which is only a month away). If you haven't been convinced go see for yourself and check out their website.

Mama Style: WHAT I WORE

top- target, shorts/wedges- forever21, bag/cardigan- charlotte russe

Oh Monday, why must you come so early? At least my day went by fast since Monday's rather a busy day for me. How was everyone's weekend? Today, my hunny and I decided to have lunch since there was a bit of an accident which involved the worst painful smell ever. We stopped by Albertson's to buy a Lean Cuisine for me to have for lunch, once going down the freezer aisle I could not bare the odor and boy was it awful. After having the thought run through my head if I was to eat my Lean Cuisine that I would smell it as I was eating it. I told Justin to pick me up and we would grab some burritos and take some outfit pictures. Now you've probably seen me wear this outfit before when Justin and I attended the Blues Fest. I couldn't resist I had to wear it again and there's nothing wrong with wearing something twice, right? Any who, my hunny just walked in the door and I had already prepared dinner, mmmm wheat pasta with pesto sauce. So tootles for now!!!
